“Sharing, conviviality and joy feed the soul”

Informal atmosphere, and Basque inspired sharing are the main ingredients that make Basque, the most recent gastronomic project of Penha Longa Resort, a unique restaurant.

Eneko Atxa is one of the world’s famous chefs and the Eneko Lisboa and Basque restaurants are the newest members of his portfolio and Penha Longa Resort’s most recent gastronomic project.

Basque brings the flavour of the Basque Country to the vibrant and modern city of Lisbon. It aims to recreate a typical Basque tavern, with food grilled over charcoal, traditional bar dishes and local wines, such as Txacoli.

Open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Basque Sunday Lunch: from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The menu is informal, based on the popular Basque cuisine with high-quality products and a variety of different options: small plates, dishes to share, “cazuelas” (such as different rice dishes served in casseroles) and coal-roasted fare. And to complement the food, the typical “wine barrels” are a highlight!

Located in Alcântara, currently one of the main night-life hubs of the Portuguese capital, in Basque you can experience the essence, intensity and unique flavours of the Basque cuisine of Eneko Atxa.

Open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The exterior is made of glass in order to take maximum advantage of the natural light. There is a garden on the building’s roof with edible flowers, which are used in some dishes.

The cuisine – the perfect trilogy of flavour, texture and aesthetics – is rooted in the traditional Basque cuisine. Enjoy the flavour of home-cooked meals and grandmother’s stews in all confections. This is the basis for the construction of innovative textures and techniques and different dishes.

To generate pleasure, achieve excellence, create value, share the richness and knowledge and ultimately to grow in a sustainable way.
